Hybrid Publishing Model
Under its Anya imprint, Page & Vine has created a non-exclusive hybrid publishing model for successful indie authors seeking a traditional print distribution solution that expands their brand into brick-and-mortar locations while preserving their direct revenue streams.
Under the hybrid publishing program, authors will retain 60% of the net profits of their traditionally distributed print revenue and benefit from full service sales, warehousing, and distribution via Simon & Schuster, introducing their books to large retailers like Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, libraries, specialty markets, and more.
The Page & Vine team provides line editing and proofreading services, print formatting, a retail sales force, warehousing, distribution management, and promotions tailored to reach booksellers, librarians, and access to its proprietary database of 4,500 romance/fiction influencers.
About Page & Vine
We are a boutique romance imprint specializing in bringing BookTok and social trending titles to bookshelves internationally. Founded in 2022, Page & Vine has established itself as a notable imprint in the world of romance, having successfully introduced an impressive catalog of stories and rising authors to bookstores across the globe. In addition to our US distribution relationship with Simon & Schuster, we also have partnerships with Simon & Schuster Australia and Melia UK.
Founded by #1 NYT bestselling author Meredith Wild, Page & Vine appreciates the immense dedication and investment required to create a successful author brand. We also understand that allowing an author to stay invested in their IP, while providing access to traditional publishing resources, is critical for rapid brand growth.
The Process
Submit interest. To be considered for hybrid publishing, submit your manuscript via our contact form, along with a short summary of your series / trending titles, as well as lifetime and past three months sales in print (include KDP and Ingram where applicable).
Publishing Plan. The Page & Vine acquisition team assesses hybrid publishing candidates on several factors, including lifetime sales, current print sales of backlist, author’s genre/positioning in the market, story, and branding. If your work meets Page & Vine’s criteria for traditional print distribution, our team will draft a preliminary publishing proposal. This will include a publishing calendar, a schedule of print fees, and suggestions on brand positioning.
Authors in our hybrid publishing program take responsibility for printing costs, which can range from $12-20k first printing per title depending on book length and special effects. We typically recommend a first printing of 8,000-20,000 units, depending on sales history and initial retailer interest. We will leverage our relationships with the most reputable printers in the industry to secure competitive pricing and ensure your book meets professional standards.Asset Collaboration. Where applicable, titles will receive professional line editing and proofreading by Page & Vine prior to publication. Page & Vine will oversee the formatting, printing, shipping, and distribution process on behalf of the author.
Sales, Warehousing, & Distribution. Page & Vine will package your titles’ key selling points to present to national and international distribution sales accounts on a seasonal basis. Materials will target large retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BAM, as well as independent bookstores, libraries, online retailers, and specialty markets. Titles are warehoused and distributed by our partners at Simon & Schuster, however authors can allocate any reasonable amount of inventory for their direct sales/signing/promotional needs for the price of freight.
Marketing. Page & Vine works in collaboration with authors to promote both backlist and upcoming titles. Our typical new release marketing targets retailers, distributors, librarians, and industry professionals, as well as individual readers and brand advocates from our proprietary database of 4500+ fiction influencers.
Inventory Management. Throughout the lifetime of our agreement, Page & Vine will continually monitor your inventory, retailer orders, and returns, and advise on reprinting and special promotions.
